What this tool does

The viewer decodes the image enough to read natural width and height, and reports the File object's type and size. For GPS and camera tags, use the EXIF viewer.

How to use it

1. Drop an image.
2. Read dimensions and bytes.
3. Reset to forget the file.

Privacy

This tool processes files and text locally in your browser. Your content is not uploaded or stored by this site.

ConvertPass does not include your input in analytics, URLs, or error reports. Encoding: Browser decoder. Limit: 25 MB (25.00 MB).

Limitations

• MIME type is what the browser reports, which may follow the file extension.
• Animated duration is not measured.

Troubleshooting

Type is empty

Some browsers leave File.type blank. The decoder can still succeed. Do not trust the extension alone.

FAQ

Is this EXIF?

No. Use the EXIF viewer for camera and GPS tags.

Can I inspect a URL?

No. Fetching remote images would be a network request. Open the file locally.

Why might dimensions differ from Photoshop?

EXIF orientation can swap width and height depending on who applies it.

Does it execute SVG scripts?

SVG is drawn as an image when the browser allows it. ConvertPass does not inject SVG markup into the document.
